The bonanza and the sports extravaganza is coming to an end. For the last couple of weeks the sports fans the world over could not take their eyes from the TV for such was the attraction , of the spectacular events that staged at Beijing. China ,who were lagging behind USA until Athens seems to overtake USA in Gold medal tally though the over all medal tally is better for the latter. We need to appreciate and emulate the sheer dedication this country of Asia has achieved during the last one decade.
If this olympics is of any signal for the future , in coming days China would be a formidable force in the world of sports not only in their monopolistic items like gymnastics or badminton but in team events and other domains. A welcome change indeed!!
As far as the other countries are concerned Great Britain, the host of 2012 Olympics at london is at position no.3 with their limited geographical area and demographic chemistry.When some countries with more population could not make any impact, the efforts of these small nations deserve appreciation . We do hope as the slogan goes 'one world one dream ' that, Olympics with its healthy competion and single mindedness would bring harmony and brotherhood among nations and help us to usher into a boundry less single nation where people could live in eternal peace and happiness!!
